Dog Loses Hope And Curls Up In A Corner To Cry

Life can be difficult for a dog living in an animal shelter. At times, they may find that other dogs are being selected over them and all they want is to have the right family.

Major is a dog that has experienced this after living in a shelter in Indiana for over 260 days. His first family had rejected him and left him at the shelter but they knew that there was a perfect family out there for him somewhere.

As a four-year-old terrier/pitbull mix, Major sometimes has difficulty being looked at when there are so many other dogs at the pound. He was taken in as a stray and was microchipped, so they were able to get in touch with the original owners.

This gave them hope that Major would be back in a home soon but the original family never came to get him. Major continued to live at the shelter during that time and he is a “sweet and sensitive” dog.

After getting to know the dog, the staff started calling him “Major Hunk” and sometimes, “Major Heartthrob.” Unfortunately, months would continue to go by as potential adopters would overlook the sweet pup.

This ended up taking a toll on his demeanor and eventually, they said that his “spunky personality is dimming.” He used to love playing with the jolly ball but now, he just sits in his room and cries in a corner.

The shelter realized that being in the kennel was causing him stress so they moved him to a visiting room. They knew that he had to find a home as soon as possible.

They also understood that Major would need a very specific family but they knew that there was someone out there for him. On Facebook, they wrote: “If you’re ready to welcome a loving, strong, and playful friend into your life, Major is the one for you!”

We hope that Major finds the home that he deserves.
